Future Goals

The foundation wants to establish a school with permanent facilities for orphans and destitute children from the age of 0 until 18 years old. They are to be given protection, healthcare and education so that they will become a fully-abled individual who can contribute to society. The children should leave school obtaining a diploma.

The foundation choose to help Life Mercy Orphanage in Kampala City, the capital of Uganda, because of their commitment to the children and illustrated a well-structured plan for developing the futures of these children. In our earlier cooperation we created a connection of mutual trust and respect.

  • Primary and Secondary School
  • Vocational training (carpentry, agriculture, etc)

Who is Life Mercy Orphanage?

David Matovu, Director at the orphanage, was born in Uganda. From the time he was five years old he had been living on the streets of Kampala. Later in his life he met Jesus and from that moment his life took a better direction. He is now married with five children.

In 2005, he opened a small centre for street children. Later, he rented a building for these children. This building is currently used as the children’s school and home.

The orphanage school accommodates students from nursery school to primary year seven.
It now has a total of 172 children. Sadly, this number continually increases, due to the current circumstances of poverty in Uganda.

The building serves both as their school and their home.  Unfortunately, each month David and the orphans are confronted with the continuing challenge of paying the rent for the building.

Most of the children are orphans as a result of their parents dying from HIV/AIDS, destitute children or street children. Others are from poverty stricken families where they run away from home because their parents/guardians fail to look after them.
